Radio
The power of sound
Radio uses the theater of the mind to capture attention and get a point across. If you do it right, it can create top-of-mind awareness and significantly increase name recognition as well. Good radio advertising involves creating campaigns, not spots, so many of these ads are one of several used. Some did not make it to the airwaves - alas - but were still met by the client with excitement. Oh, for the want of funds!
One of many ads developed (and voiced) by me for The Maids, a franchise home and office cleaning service. I determined that the most outstanding benefit they offered homeowners (predominantly women) was giving them back up to 10 hours a week that they would normally spend on house cleaning. Using humor, The Maids' spots significantly added to their growth in the central NJ marketplace.
Importantly, the humor that is used in all The Maids ads is directly associated with the message, so that it doesn't compete and actually helps them remember.
